Project Homeless Connect Day

RICE helped with the 2nd Annual Homeless Connect Day-connecting downtown communities in December 2007. With the help of sponsors RICE International Relief Corporation was able to contribute to the Project Homeless Connect Day in the following ways:

  • 2,000 people were served according to their need through-out the day
  • 1900 Hygiene Kits and local Resource Directory were distributed
  • There were 30 people helped with Mental Health Services
  • 183 Flu shots were given
  • 150 Hypertension tests were completed
  • 22 RAPID HIV tests were given
  • 33 applied for birth certificates to support California ID requests
  • 51 California Identification cards were completed
  • 221 dental screenings given
  • 20 Warrants were recalled
  • 745 bus tokens issued

There were over 200 volunteers to support those who attended

RICE was honored to be a part of this local effort to help the community, and is thankful to everyone who supported this cause.
